Check Deadlock,owners Manual.

Featured Replies

Hi all. I have just bought a second hand 62 plate Octavia. Mint condition. I am getting the message Check Deadlock, Owners Manual when I switch off the engine. I understand from other posts on the forum that this is a normal Skoda thing but my problem is that when I switch the engine off, the drivers door (the only one I have tried as yet) will not open with the first pull of the door handle but opens on the second pull. Is this connected to the Deadlock message? if so why the two pulls and if not does anybody know the reason for it and how to overcome it? Thanks.

It's not connected and  the other 'problem' can be altered with coding.

Sounds like the anti hijack feature, when you switch the engine off, take the key out of the ignition and it should unlock all the doors.

Also try pressing the lock/unlock button this should unlock the car and only need one pull to open then.

I assume once started and driving over 10mph the car locks itself
