PCP/Car Change Advice

Featured Replies

Good morning,

I'm just wondering if any can offer some advice in relation to PCP and VWFS.

Having owned my Mk3 vRS TDI for some time and it reaching just shy of six figure milage, I bit the bullet and got an ex-demo and nearly new vRS TSI towards the end of 2018. The Octavia range is fantastic, and this time I thought I'd treat myself to a petrol. As is such luck, I am doing many more miles than I initialy thought I would be and in the not too distant future, I may need more space. Having spoken with the dealer about a possible change in vehicle, I've been advised to hold out until I have had the car for two years, at which point a good deal is said to be possible mid-way through my four year contract.

Is this common in these situations? I'm hoping to steer towards a Superb TDI in the future.

This aside, I cannot fault the car and It's great to still see my old Mk3 local to me :)

Thanks.

Voluntary termination is what they're referring to. If all is ok with the car etc you can usually hand it back half way and not pay any more.

When I done it a few years ago. You were expected to have paid at least half the total amount (not always 2 years, worth checking your finance docs) but I just sent them a letter stating I wanted to voluntarily terminate the contract and they got back with any additional costs, proceedures etc.

Thanks for that, it makes a little more sense now.

Or, you could ask for a settlement price now and try advertising it privately for the same price and see what interest you get.

If you find a buyer use the funds from the sale to settle the finance, giving you the freedom to shop around for a Superb without the hassle of having to factor in the current cars finance into the deal.
