After doing hours of research into this problem the mystery is finally sorted. You can only activate the cruise control in the engine control using odis......you will need to buy an activation code ftom skoda which was 17.99. As previously stated you will need to run an extra wire from pin 5 at the engine control module which is also the airbag squib this goes to pin 12 in the engine control loom in the nearside front side panel spot the missing wire
