1994 Favorit Hall Sensor

Featured Replies

Hi All

I am looking to get a replacement crank position/Hall sensor for my 1994 Favorit SPI.

I bought this off e-bay which claimed to be correct for the car. However the plug is too narrow does not fit in the socket in the car.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Intermotor-Crank-Sensor-18837-Replaces-4165008-0-261-210-064/362487296663?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D3e6df29847dc4997a8196555c5100854%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D293106252898%26itm%3D362487296663&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A1881721f-85d7-11e9-8f2c-74dbd180b885|parentrq%3A1c6411b116b0aa6a3542af7dffd5b885|iid%3A1

I then looked at this

https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/047907319-speed-sensor-1-3-cz-3565.html

But this does not have the connector on the end of the flylead.

I wonder if I can just buy the second one, and try and stretch the connection from the car (which is currently on the bracket which bolts to the thermostat housing) , or failing that does anyone know where I could buy the correct part?

Many Thanks

Wes

What part number did you use to buy the sensor?

I didn't have a part number, so I just used the model comparability info on the e bay  advert which says it is compatible for 1994 Favorit

For the one on Skoda-parts.com, I messaged them and they say this is the only one they stock for the Favorit (but I haven't actually bought that one)

Well... eBay will never help in that respect. It is you that has to be well informed when ordering parts.

Thanks. That is a very useful site.

Unsurprisingly the part number from that link is not listed next to my ebay purchase.  However it is listed on the Skoda-parts.com sensor (047 907 319 A )   despite the sensor on that site clearly being the one with no flylead and the connector on the sensor itself.    I will have to check to see if I can stretch the cable from the thermostat housing down where the sensor sits

Thanks Ricardo, but I dont see the correct part number on that advert either (047 907 319 A ).  The lead does look long enough, but the one I bought from E-bay also had a long enough lead, just too narrow a plug on the end of the lead

You don't see the part number because your part number is wrong.

Correct part number is 004165008.004165008.thumb.jpg.cec7ac69dc141806e35889a368820615.jpg

Hmmm that is very strange. When I go in to the system and select 1994 Favorit I get the same diagram but part number 73 is the part number I showed in previous post and not the one you have shown.    I dont know how to show the picture in the post as you have done, but I went Favorit/Forum/Pickup , 1994 Fav,  electrics,  ignition transformer, temperature sensor, speed sensor, lamda probe     and this was the number it gave me,  How strange

How about posting the photo of the bad sensor/cable? Any part number on it?
