Engine number CLHA location

Featured Replies

I was thinking of replacing my timing belt so i was checking the tools required. my car is supposed to have a CLHA engine fitted but when i gave my reg to the shop they said it was a CLHB engine fitted and on the timing belt cover it shows the engine number as CLHB so i was wondering if anyone knows where the engine number is stamped on the engine thanks

The engine no is also on the registration document

Yes and it is the same as the timing cover and the customs declaration docs so i think skoda fitted the wrong engine

I also have some concerns with regards to CLHB and CLHA engines. from a list here: http://vag-codes.info/files/engines/skoda-engines.pdf

it seems that all CLHB engine is 66kW 90LE. While CLHA is 77kW and 105LE. However my car was delivered with a CLHB engine and the factory papers says it is 77kW.

So I wonder what is true about the power/output/performance.

Anyway here is a youtube video about where to find the engine codes. I hope this helps:
