Want to fit MFSW (3T0 419 091K) to my 2012fl Octavia,  But need highline module. Is there a way I can find out if it is a 5K0 type or 1K0 that is fitted to my car, without taking everything apart?

Scan it with VCDS or similar 🙂

Okay, so have steering wheel (3T0 419 091 K E74) from 2011 Octavia, slip ring (5K0 953 569  AL) from 2014 Audi A1, and wiring loom 3T0 971 584 A (new) all fitted. Steering module (not slip ring) was code previously in prep for mfsw retrofit.

trip computer on stalk and cruise on other stalk no longer working. Q. Would the slip ring be too new for my Octy (2012)?

It's not because the module is newer, it's because the Audi software is designed for different stalks to those fitted in an Octavia.

 

It's the same issue as the other thread: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/468487-2011-fl-mfsw/ Personally, I'd sell the Audi module and buy the right one...

 

If the new module also came with stalks, you should be able to figure out how they work easily enough (it's a resistor ladder) and possibly modify the original stalks to match their behaviour. I did the same recently when I fitted MK3 style stalks to my FL MK2

Yes, I wondered if it was possible to reset the module. Trundlenut did the scan and tried to code, but the only options for CC were not fitted or separate stalk (as per Audi).

Also buttons on mfsw not working.

Just did a quick google and it turns out their are various flash files for 5K0 953 501 N. There are five versions, one for Audi, one for Seat and three different ones for VW but nothing that's labelled for Skoda.

 

At least one person has used these on a 5K0 953 501 AT/5K0 953 569 H HW:016 steering module to go from SW:0140 to SW:0180 in their Tiguan. I think it may only be suitable for cars needing a EV_VW360SteerWheelUDS A03004 dataset though? Link: https://www.drive2.ru/l/533043787975360516/

 

Oh - just found there is an update for 5K0 953 521 J  that seems to be for Skoda SW:0136...

 

edit:

SW:0136 looks like it'll probably be too old for the AL rev hardware. From what I can see it'll only work on HW:009 😕
