Thinking of buying a mk2 fabia vrs...

Featured Replies

Hi all.

New to the group.

Very much contemplating buying a Fabia VRS and wanted to know peoples advice etc...

Seen a lot of worrying things online in regards to the oil consumption and clutch problems.

The only I'm looking at is a 2011 with 57k.

Nearly full history, alot of it Skoda main dealer.

4 previous owners, in very good condition.

Reg is NV11 HLF.

Cheers.

Welcome.

There is a lot to check out.  There can be engine and DSG issues.  Not overblown online, the CAVE engine failure rate is over 25%, even replacement engines have failed in the 1,800 or so Mk2 vRS from 2010-2012.  Still failing, as are some CTHE cars 2012-2014/15.

The Full History will not be much is it, Oil / Filter & Air / Pollen Filters, and maybe some service campaigns, spark plug changes  and wash and vacuums.

Be careful. you want to know if warranty work was done, any oil consumption tests, a breather mod and software update and '34f7' carried out on the DSG.

There are crackers around, recently 2 sold in the BRISKODA cars for sale.

Worth checking out cars that come up on here where there are members that can vouch for the cars they have.

Too many are doing the rounds when problems arise, punted to WBAC or the likes and then some other unsuspecting buyers are landed with them.
