ECU Replacement

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have been having electrical issues with my 2012 TSI 1.2. General consensus is that the ECU is at fault. I have rang a few firms to try to get it reprogrammed but to no avail. Apparently they don't carry the software for the Continental 5WP44826 ECU, so i have got the parts from a doner car Which include the lock set,ECU,transponder and speedo cluster.

My question is do i need to change the speedo cluster? The guy i brought the set from said i would.

Yes you would if you are going the long way around. It is the immobiliser control unit and matched to the engine ECU and key.

Depending on the mileage shown on the cluster you could also be clocking the vehicle unless declared or adjusted etc.

Far easier to get an ECU and remove the immobiliser function.
