Drivers door seal

Featured Replies

Does anyone have part numbers for door seals (drivers) for 2012 mk2 Fabia vRS?

Water is phishing in, even in a heavy shower let alone when I use jet wash or whatever. Thanks in advance.

this is front doors...

Sittingbull, I’m in a similar boat to you (just realised before posting the pun wasn’t intended!). Once I have opened the door during or after heavy rail, I then get the occasional large drip from around the curved bit of top of door, directly above electric window controls. I’d be curious if others experience the same?

I used to have a Seat Leon ST, with very similar profile doors and design of seals, which used to do the same.

My best guess is that it is a potential floor in the design of the seal rather than your specific seal having nicks in etc. I think some water gets held on the inward curved part of seal (left side in picture), rather than routed into the channel part (right side) and then that point above window control is just a weak point for the seal design to run water toward inside of car as it’s sloped that way anyway.

Mine, does however stop after 20 mins driving or so. If it is wet though in yours without opening the door then obviously I think you are right and the seal is defective.

Anybody else have any issues with this please?

The seal around the door is just to "finish" it and provide a quieter interior (reduces wind noise around the panel gaps when the doors are closed) , the rubber seal around the door frame is to stop water ingress.

Just a common feature of modern cars with no gutters, open window and get wet, happens on the Fabia and my Astra K.......and on both it drips straight into the window switches.

With ours, it has got worse over time and in truth I ought to have dealt with it much sooner. Anytime it rains now, the water drips in steadily. If its a downpour, then the ingress is much worse. If I am daft enough to use a car wash (I was) then you face a drooking if you're dumb enough to sit in car (I was).

So I do need to fix it soon and certainly before the winter comes back around. It will be the door frame seal/ surround I need.
