Interior Locking Button Faulty?

Featured Replies

So, the rocker switch by the handbrake to lock/unlock the doors (when set in Anti-Car-Jack mode) does lock the doors, but won't unlock them, which is annoying if I'm giving someone a lift. I have to switch off the engine, remove the key and press the unlock button. Small beans, I know, but I've got fed up with this and disabled the ACJ mode, which SWMBO doesn't like as she uses the car a fair bit.

Is this a faulty switch, or is there a setting in the Maxidot that I'm not finding/understanding? 2007 Octy Scout PD140.

I'm sure the collective expertise on here will know more about the MFD than I'll ever learn...

Mine did that for a while and because I use it so rarely I was not sure if it had always been like that, but in fact it was dust/oxidisation on the switch contacts resulting from the lack of use, I gave the switch the good news and beat it to within an inch of its life and then it would both lock and unlock.

Its probably on strike again now though!

Worth trying...............

You can also open a door from the inside by pulling on the internal handle twice.

Any tips on removal of said switch?

I had to remove mine and replace for the same reason as yours. I managed to pry it out and carefully remove with the console in. However, it took ages and result in a fair bit of skin loss. If you've got big hands no chance. Console out!
