Finally got the Karoq - gripes

Featured Replies

After a 5 month added delay finally got my new SE Tech wheels after handing in my Nissan.

On the whole like IT. however I finding the infotainment system a bit rubbish.

The DAB system seems to find it impossible to find Abosulte 80s despite searching stations in various places.

The Sat Nav semms to be daft. Had 2 issues this week.

Was in Teksbury driving to Wiltshire eta said 5.45 then jumped to 20.30. Guessing due to incidents. There is another logical route which when I put waze on said would have an Eta of 18.30 which was bang on.  It seems Sat Nav did not attempt to re-route.

Yesterday was at Blenheim palace sat Nav was saying time of 1hr 45 to go home via Oxford. Normally sat Nav says take another route as quicker. So I ignore sat Nav, which is telling to do u turns etc. After about 2 minutes it finally accepts the new route I am taking an Eta drops to about 1hr 15.

it is like it has lost all sense of logic

Have to agree re sat nav. ETA's always way out, routing often suspect. I use Tom Tom go on the phone as I much prefer that to Google or Waze and maybe one day Tom Tom will make it into Android Auto ( now available an Apple Car Play). I use the sat nav to get an overview of traffic conditions as it is pretty good at showing hold ups and road closures and it's easy to zoom in and out on the big screen.

what is the se tech

thats why I went for the se L

Slightly OT, but Sygic use TomTom mapping and is available on Android Auto. They used to do a 7 day full free trial.

I use the non AA version on my Samsung and prefer its layout and interface to that of my TomTom Via 53.

RH123, do you have a SIM card or online connection in the car? Just asking as with that I have found that the rerouting works well and the ETA is normally accurate

I have an online connection and find sat nav has an eta about 30 mins later than tom tom on 2+ hour journeys, maybe it's just anticipating the M25 snarl ups just in case they happen. It does reroute but it doesn't say so and if it's only a few minutes I'd rather make the decision. Apart from that it's not as bad as some make out.

To Fin69 I think your Samsung has mirror link which as far as I can see is needed for sygic, everything I have read suggests it won't yet work in android auto. My phone despite being on pie doesn't support mirror link. From forums it seems Google is the road block preventing 3rd party mapping being available on AA  whereas Apple Car Play appears to be more open, Tom Tom now available.
