Having had no luck with the EML light I reluctantly had to scrap my 2003 Octavia. But rather than just weigh it in I prepared it for Banger Racing! The glass, interior and lights were removed, a roll bar and safety fuel tank were fitted and we were ready to go. It actually did very well taking a few knocks as well as giving some. Went out for the third heat and by now it was becoming a little unsteady on the handling front following damage to front suspension and rear wheels seriously out of toe. Second lap I noticed something on the dashboard. All the gauges were still working but...you've guessed it...NO EML LIGHT!!! Yes, it seems the only way to cure it is to knock seven shades out of it! Obviously there must have been a dodgy wire somewhere but the cost of investigation and diagnostics never mind cost of repair was prohibitive.

Hope to buy another Skoda soon though.

Regards

Tony
