I have a Skoda Fabia Mk2 (2008). Last year I had some issues with my sliding roof being pretty leaky (might be related to this issue). I've posted the issue on this forum.

 

Now, I think I have some issues with my CAN wiring.

Last year, I've went to a full servicing and the guy there told me that he tried to hook in his diagnostic tool, but it did not work. I didn't mind as I knew any error codes.

I have a VAG12.12 myself and communication only works using KWP2000. If I try Auto-Scan (forces CAN), it can't find anything; similarly, if I choose the model and check 'CAN only' it fails to communicate.

 

I'll do check the resistance between CAN L and CAN H (pin 6 and 14) tomorrow to see if it's right.

Although, I'm pretty sure that the CAN wiring is messed up.

 

Everything else works fine, except for the parking sensors;

Also, if I have my heating on and I go into Reverse, the fans would start spinning even faster for no reason -- definitely noticeable.

 

What do you think?

If you think it's the wiring, do you have any recommendations on where to buy a wiring kit?

If you can access Gateway then CAN is working fine. A 2008 Fabia doesn’t run full CAN that will auto detect all control modules. It still uses the central electrics control unit from the Fabia1 which contains gateway. 

 

The fan note will change when selecting reverse. It closes air recirculation by design.
