Hi,

 

I have managed to brick my ECU whilst trying to remap it.

I managed to read the original file before remapping the new file but once remapped the car would shut itself off.

I've read that its not a simple case of swapping the ecu around from another car. Something to do with pins.

Can i get a replacement ECU and flash it with my original Map file?

If not can anyone repair my ECU.

Can you confirm your car? You've posted in the MK2 Octavia section but your profile suggests a MK1 Superb? If it's the latter, it might be worth asking a mod to move this thread for you.

 

Given you've potentially bricked one ECU, there is a fare change you might do the same on a replacement one when you attempt to flash your original file?

 

Might be worth contacting a local tuner as they might be able to recover your existing ECU with the backup you took.
