Centre Console Creaks 😠

Featured Replies

Hey everyone

I recently bought a 2018 Sportline with 7000kms on the clock.

Despite the car being basically brand new, it creaks like a 10 year old car. Very disappointing. It almost stops me from wanting to drive the thing.

Even going around slight corners causes the centre console, cup holder and handrest to creak and crack.

Is there any info on how to pull this apart so I can fill it full of foam and deadening material?

Thanks!

Very annoying alright. Not sure if your centre armrest is creaking, mine was but was easily fixed.  Silicone spray is also good for areas that you don't want to take apart.

Thanks I took the bottom part of the arm rest off, covered it in felt etc but then it wouldn't clip back on.

I then tried some padded double sided tape, it wouldn't clip back on either.

Itll only clip back on if I have nothing in between the plastic bottom and the top.

I have up and left the bottom cover off. I don't see the bottom of the armrest anyway.

Will raise it with the dealer when I book in the first service, the creaks from the armrest and cupholder are atrocious and not acceptable on a car less than a year old.
