Can anyone recommend where to find this replacement part? Can't find an answer searching on here.

You need to ask in the Octavia mk1 forum; this is for the mk2 (2004-2013).

 

I'd be inclined to start with some breakers; look for someone breaking a mk1, there have been a few advertised in the last week or so.

Do you have the one you're trying to replace (if it's broken or similar)?  The VW part no will be on there. 

 

It *might* be the same part as the one for the VW Mk4 Golf.  Does/did it look like this one?:
