Octavia vRS advice

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a few questions.

Im looking at buying a 2015/16 Octavia vRS TDI DCT to replace my faithful Octavia 209 1.4 DCT Elegance(currently for sale). I feel diesel is the right choice as since I brought my Octavia 2 years ago I have covered around 80k!

  • What year was Euro 6 introduced?
  • Ive noticed that some newer Octavia's have a larger headhunt - can these retrofitted?
  • Does the vRS button have Performance Sound Generator?
  • From 2015 onwards should it have Apple CarPlay and is wireless CarPlay an option and/or can this be turned on?
  • Is Auto High Beam and Traffic Sign Recognition an option or can these be turned on via VCDS?
  • Is adaptive cruise control an option?
  • Do they all come with black headlining?
  • Is ambient lighting an option?
  • What MPG should I expect?

Thanks in advance.

Good going with your 1.4 /dsg. The vRS will need the DSG getting an oil change each year with your kind on annual miles if that is miles.   Maybe the Octavia section a better place for your questions.

I will paste it there also. yes, its been faultless - will be sad too see it go, its got so many stories to tell from its time with me!

Vrs TDi DSG anywhere from 45 to 66mpg when I owned a 2015 model. Think mine had the black headlining. Ambient lighting is nice but was an option (came as standard on my 2017 Vrs245). Even the diesel has the sound actuator makes it sound sportier.

September 2015. My 65 plate Scout is Euro 6.

2015 is too early for Apple Car Play. The following is from the August 2014 Octavia brochure, but seems to be true for my September 2015 Scout:

The all-new infotainment systems on Octavia are a significant step forward in the field of multimedia
systems. The car stereo, navigation system and trip computer are no longer standalone devices, but are
wrapped up in one system giving the driver access to the vehicle setup, drive assistant systems and
comfort functions through a single device. Proximity sensors recognise when a hand is moving toward
the touchscreen and bring up the function buttons ready to be used, whilst intuitive swiping and pinching
movements allow the user to scroll menus and zoom into maps easily.

Device connectivity.

All Octavias come with a USB and aux-in socket so you can play music from your mp3 player through the car’s speakers. With many players, the USB will allow you to control the device through the car’s touchscreen system and also to charge. Should you wish to control an Apple device through the touchscreen, you can either use Bluetooth® to stream or swap the USB and aux-in for an optional Mitsumi Apple connectivity socket.

CarPlay was an option in cars fitted with the MIB2 versions of the Infotainment system (my 2015 model was built just before that so I have a MIB1 and hence no CarPlay).

Wireless CarPlay is NOT an option, USB connected only.

I have ACC on my 14 plate VRS, and High Beam assist and traffics sign assist are options, but also can be enabled on all MK3 VRS, as far as I know.

And all driving modes can have the sound generator, just at different levels.
