Fabia warning lights

Featured Replies

I’m not a car expert but I feel that I was swindled by Skoda. I need some advice please.

Sometime ago the tyre pressure light in our 3 years old Skoda Fabia went on. I took the car to a garage and they fixed the tyre. After a while the light went on again intermittently. Then the Abs and Esc lights went on occasionally. Finally the park pilot and the start/stop system went down as well. I took the car to Skoda and at first they reset the data and tested the car, I paid £95. The warning lights went on again after a few days.

Back to Skoda and this time they said that the body control unit was faulty, loss of communication. I contested it because the faults were intermittent which seemed to me that the CU wasn’t broken, I thought there was something wrong with the sensors. They dismissed my opinion. I didn’t have any alternatives and I paid £530 for the new control unit. As I was taking the car home, barely two miles away, the lights went on again in exactly the same sequence. Back to Skoda again and this time they checked the tyre sensors at no cost.

After 100 miles,  lights again on.

Back to Skoda, they fixed the ABS sensor at no cost.

Car ok so far after a month.

I feel that the replacement of the control unit was unnecessary. Can anybody give me their opinion please? Thanks

I’d agree as the fault returned straight away.
