Does anybody have any experience connecting a can enabled head unit to the can system on an Octavia II (MY2012)?

 

I'm looking at buying this: https://www.alpine.co.uk/p/Products/SingleView/iLX-700

 

Could anyone tell me what adaptors I would need? 

My cheap Chinese one (not recommended) used the same connector as the Skoda one which has the canbus wires within, it just worked, well when it feels like it, they must have sent me the French version because of where I live 😀

Well if the Chinese can use standard connectors, hopefully Alpine will! Then again, you never know with car audio!

The standard radio will use a 40 pin quadlock, looking at the rear of the iLX-700, it uses something completely different so you're going to need an adaptor.

 

Scrolling down the page you linked to the accessory section, it lists KIT-7VW for a Skoda Octavia II so you probably need that
