just purchased a skoda octavia rs 2009.

having problems starting car sometimes. one minute starts fine then next coughs a bit to start it. anyideas please

When was it last properly serviced, not just a stamp in the service book ?  if recent, then try and get the fault codes read as this might throw some light on the problem

I'd check your battery
