iPhone screen locks on phone call when using navigation

Featured Replies

Hey!

when I’m using the Move&Fun app for navigation but most of the time Im using Waze, if I receive an incoming call or make a call around 30seconds after the screen locks and I can no longer see the navigation but just hear it, even though auto lock is off on Waze. So while still on and after the call I can still see the navigation app.

Has anyone else experienced this? Would this be a setting on my iPhone or is it a pitfall of the Skoda swing set up?

thanks!!

It is unlikely to be the Swing unit in this instance.

30s secs does sound like a typical time-out for a screen-lock to kick in, (or sleep), so I suspect a setting or a problem with the M+F app....   Are you running M+F and Waze (or other app)  at the same time, or only one at a time? I am wondering if there is an odd interaction going on....  Are you certain that if you run M+F by itself*, the problem only happens following use of the phone?  Do you have another app you can try running that you know will prevent screen lock, so that you can see what happens when the phone is used with that app running?

I'm afraid a few experiments will be needed to try to narrow down the source of the problem, rather than assume it has to be M+F - although that app does have 'oddities' and is rather 'under-developed'. I am currently talking with Skoda support in CZ about issues with M+F on my phone - I sent a video showing how the virtual keyboard will not show, stopping me from entering text for selecting a destination!

* on iOS and Android, there are many user tasks that get run in the background, usually on a timer (c.f. "CRON job"), but the only visible evidence of an app running is the GUI showing. It is normally the visible GUI that is relevant to preventing screen lock or not.
