Door lock rod loose, drivers side front.

Featured Replies

Having finally riveted the carrier back on, I set to aligning all of the grommets including the door lock rod one. The grommet has torn.... but that's not the problem.

The door lock rod is now flopping around unconnected to anything. I'm loath to drill the rivets out again just to fix a cosmetic irritant.

Any possible way of attaching this by some mechanical yoga? Or should I just take it off and ignore it?

You won't get it back on without taking the door panel back off. I just left my rods off. I glued the buttons in the hole to make it look better.

Damnit! It was attached when I riveted the door. Only came loose when faffing with the grommet/bellows. I may try an endoscope cam anyway. Maybe one with a magnet will allow me to get the 10mm socket out of the other door. :)
