Hi, new to the forum but hope you can help.

My 80,000 mile 2015 1.6 tdi dsg estate has lost drive and power twice now causing me to have to coast across from the outside lane of the motorway.

Two things happen, the engine goes to tickover and doesnt respond to the throttle pedal; the gear display on the dash shows just E with no number.

on reaching the hardshoulder and turning the ignition off and back on the engine restarts and it is as if nothing has happened.

I took it to the dealer in Gloucester who charged £140 to update the software but doubted if that was the problem.

I telephoned SKODA Customer service who were disinterested in the life threatening fault suggesting i took the car to another dealership for another opinion!!

has anyone else experienced this fault-i have searched the forum but only found slipping dry clutches and engine cutting out, neither of which seem to apply.

Help appreciated

 

@GCP100 - Well, I think it's a software issue, but that needs proper investigation instead of just throwing new code at it like your dealership did.

the dealership said they had no error messages on the diagnostics. its one of those problems you cant replicate to order unfortunately
