Airbag light headache, drivers airbag igniter resistance too great

Featured Replies

Evening all,

Recently bought an OBD2 machine and got the following fault code: 00588 “airbag igniter drivers side (N95) sporadic: value of resistance too great.” (See pic below)

After lots of reading, I think there is a short somewhere in the wires leading to to the airbag. Already replaced the clock spring/squib so don’t think it’s related to that.

Read loads online about people trying the connectors under the drivers seat but I can see any wires/connectors under the seat? Others have suggested wiring that goes to the airbag.

Im pretty much at the end of my tether with it! Does anyone know if this is a local garage fix or will it have to go to a specialist?

Its a 2006 Skoda Fabia Bohemia.

Thanks in advance, J.
