adaptive cruise and specs

Featured Replies

hi

first time poster so please be gentle!!

Im looking to buy a 2015 to 2017 octavia diesel (budget 9 to 13k) - the existing car is a golf 7 but need something bigger due to growing family

I want to get one with Adaptive cruise control as I have it in my golf and I find it really handy and maybe leather seats if possible too.

For some reason I can find a few elegance models with adaptive cruise and half leather but the SE-L model which replaced it doesn't have either? The SE technology does have adaptive cruise but don't see any with half leather seats. Am I missing something - I would have expected the newer cars (SE-L and SE-technology) to have a better spec?

Until the facelift ACC was always optional, it was never standard on the SE-L. The FL L&K appears to have it as standard as does the SE Tech which is based on the SE and for a time at least could not be optioned with the half leather seats. The optional spec changed a lot; for a short time you couldn’t have half leather but you could have LED headlights (I know this as I’ve personally interacted with an SE Tech with LED lights), then you couldn’t have LED headlights again. The newer cars do have a spec difference from the older ones, it is just that you seem to have found cars that have the options specified. Be careful to look for 2 stalks on the left side of the steering wheel, just having the radar isn’t enough. Unlike the Golf, the Octavia (and Leon) can be specified with front assist alone and no ACC.

Thank you @SashaGrace  - very helpful reply 👍

Don't get the half leather seats, they are awful.

Have to disagree, I think the cloth seats look very dour and make the cabin feel a bit budget whereas the half leather lifts it up a bit and makes it feel more premium. Full leather is where it’s at IMO, but I would say that 😂

It’s all personal preference though, but I don’t think it’s fair to label any choice awful.
