First 10 mile inpressions

Had a new member of the family last night. New Octavia L&K 2.0 TDI DSG.

Decide to use it to go the chippy (well had to think of something to have a go )

First impression.

Interior

Quality of the interior has come along way since the old octavia/fabia. Makes then look dated.

First look at the center console was a bit...erm whats what. Couple of minutes later (nicci got the seat on max ) all becomes clear. Like the fact you have to switch the parking sensors on. Was wondering how the front ones would work. Compared to the laguna the sensors are loads better. Helps alot with the display which tells you how far away everything is instead of just a beeping sound.

Sunroof. Well dont think its worth having its so small. Dont think my dad will be impressed when he comes to trying to stick some nice long pieces of timber through.:eek:

Found the drivers seat a bit too high. couldnt seem to get it low enough. But still the electric seats are a good play (only on the drivers seat) Nice and comfortable too. Not sure how well they will keep you in your seat. Time will tell

Mirrors. Well thought they look a bit small compared to the fabia but after driving it didnt really notice it.

ICE. Never had a play but the sound seems nice.

Walking home lights or whatever they all. Strange. Wonder how many people stop you to say you've left your lights on.

Drivering. As I say only a quick drive. Starting of it feels like a typical auto changing gear but once going DSG works nice. Keeps the revs around 1.5K to 2.0K. Smooth ride just like my mates A3. Suspension seems to deal well with speed bumps and pot holes well. I good test would be my route to work. Has loads of potholes. round corners their is a noticable amount of bodyroll and turn in response is a little delayed. (not fitted with sports suspension) But the idea was a nice comfortable ride not for late night drives round north wales.

All in all well impressed so far. Should be a great car for the old man. Wont be long till he fills it with crap

Just got to talk him out of a trip to awesome (come on sarah whens the Dualsystem out:D )
