Yeti Roof Bars

Featured Replies

Hey,

Been a while since i moved away from Skoda having sold my Fabia VRS but now laid a deposit down on a Yeti and due to collect on Thursday.

Its going to be a leisure/work car so i need bars on it. Thule site suggests the 775 footpack but has anyone fitted the 757 or 755 clamps instead? My old car has the 755 already so would save me buying the 775 which are, of course, the most expensive feet!

Thanks in advance.

Not sure how much help this will be, but I have used the same feet on my 12 Yeti, 66 Octavia estate and 66 Yeti

I forget if it was 755 or 757 I had when I had my Volvo V50, but when I then got the Yeti I found that the clamps didn’t open wide enough to get around the much wider Yeti rails, so had to get some 775s.

In fact I still have the Volvo setup in the shed somewhere, unused since 2011.  Not only did the clamps not fit, but the bars are just a touch too short to span the Yeti roof too.

Thanks guys. Should be picking up a set of 127cm bars later from Gumtree. Got an old set of 775's from a previous car sitting in the shed but theyve rusted stiff! Will need to source another set then.

There are alternatives on ebay for about £35

I bought one set and added 4 bike carriers to it nearly 10 years ago now, still works fine on third Yeti. Then I needed just straight bars for moving large items and can't be bothered to dismantle the bike carriers as takes hours, so bought a second set for that use.

Just need to buy the extra long ones to fit the Yeti as standard bars are not long enough

Thanks buddy. I always try to go Thule as I find the quality and robustness 2nd to none. Irony is i have Thule 108, 120, 135 and 150cm lengths in my shed - just missing the 127cm! Also have a 753, 754 and 755 footpack - a shame the 775 has rusted stiff.

Maybe I should sell some of the stuff i have to fund the new purchase 😂
