Skoda fabia stall when pumping brake pedale

Featured Replies

Hi,

Ive just changed  brake pads front( fabia 1.2 tsi 2012), and i went to check. My first impression  is that, the braking isnt great, and when in parking position i ve tried to pump the pedal 4 or 5 times , and the engine  cuts off !!!

Any idea please

Thanks

Did you fit the correct pads for the car? There are differing types depending on the size of the discs and different callipers.

Stick the wrong ones in and the brakes will be terrible and the pads difficult to fit/extract.

Hi, thanks for replying.

The pads are right, they fit without big effort.just the braking is soft and if I stop and pump the brake pedal for 5 times, the engine cuts off ! It's like electric or pressure problem

Have you bled the brakes since the pad change?

No !

I think that you need to check all the vac lines as it sounds like you have a servo vac air leak.

Edit:- that comment was just me addressing the engine cutting out when pumping the brake pedal.

...could also be the master cylinder

It would also explain the "My first impression  is that, the braking isnt great,"

my best guess is a vacuum leak
