Mk1 octavia vrs induction kit

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I'm looking for a decent induction kit, it's first on my mods list at the moment and I can't seem to find a kit that comes with the full hose before the MAF, has anyone seen or got a kit or even just got that pipe? Thank you in advance :)

There's no such thing, unless you're building a big power, say 350bhp minimum, engine.

So would my only option to be to get the hose from sj silicone hoses? I'm planning on hitting the 250bhp mark, the previous owner has put a k&n cone on there and I don't have the old unit

At that sort of power, the standard filter box is all you need; the K&N will work since you have it, but not any better.

I've just seen this thread and thought I'd pop a photo on of my induction kit for you to look at.

I bought this car a couple of months back and all the mods were done beforehand.  The car is Stage 2 R-Tech modified and has their own induction kit fitted as part of the package.  There's a cold air feed from the lower front of the grille which is piped into the engine bay.

I've always been an advocate of sticking with the standard airbox and using a decent paper filter rather than faffing around with induction kits.  My previous Mk2 vRS was running over 250bhp with the standard air filter and it never felt strangled at all.  I cant comment on how this runs with the standard air box as I've only ever known it with the R-Tech kit.  I'd be interested to get hold of the standard setup just to compare but in all honesty, I'm kind of enjoying the chavvy whistling and hissing.

I don't know if R-Tech still sell the induction kit but it is decent quality and seeing as the car runs well, I'll probably leave things as they are.

Hope this is of some use.  If you want any more photos or info, just ask.

Andrew.
