2014 Rapid central blower not working

Featured Replies

I have a Skoda rapid with the where the central blower is not working, all the others including side, windscreen and foot seem to be ok.

would this be the resistor that I keep hearing so much about on other models?

have tried to find this with no luck, suspect this is behind the glove box but getting the glove box out for access seems to be difficult, of course I could be looking in the wrong place, any ideas?

There is only one blower fan!

Are the central blower vents open?

Is the air flow direction pointing to the central vents?

Thanks AG Falco

The resistor pack just varies the fan speed.

The air vents are open, and appropriate flow direction selected.

Also the first few time this happened I cold turn the ignition off and on again and would then get air from central vents which made me think it was electrical, now the fault is permanent.

Thanks camelspyyder, that rules that one out.

Problem solved, for the time being.

Took central vent off,  (if you have the Assembly tool - T10389 x 2 then use this to pull vent off, I don't have these therefore made up a tool by bending a stiff coat hanger into shape which worked a treat!)

behind the vent you will see an air duct, in this there is a flap which was stuck in  the closed position.

while operating directional air flow buttons gently gave the flap a little help by pushing and pulling it in sync with the air flap motor, after about 20 attempts vent now works on its own.

not sure how long this will last for but happy to leave it at that for the time being.

anybody else come across this before?

if this happens again I guess the whole assembly will need to come out and be replaced, looks difficult?
