Back in a Skoda! 2010 2.0tdi 4x4

Featured Replies

Hey people of Briskoda!
After many years in a Dacia Duster (which I did like) I've stepped back into a Skoda in the form of a 2010 4x4

Seems in good condition, some bodywork issues that need a bit of a tweak but everything works and its been looked after.
As I'm new to Yeti ownership is there anything I should do/check asap?
Thanks!

Yes, has the Haldex been serviced, and did that service include replacing the filter. Skoda recommend changing the oil every 3 years, but don't accept that there is also a filter which also needs to be changed. Even with new oil put in, if it has been done, a blocked filter will eventually write off the unit.

(This is the unit which sends power to the rear axle if slip is seen at the front wheels. It also sends power there when pulling away at large steering angles and in other circumstances. If a front wheel slips only part of a turn the power is already on at the rear)

A lot of supposedly 4wd cars with Haldex units are actually only 2wd as the unit has failed, and you won't know until the rear wheels don't drive when needed, as no warning lights etc.

Thanks! added to the list!
Working through the paperwork at the moment.. so will see if that's mentioned.. or (and I guess more likely!) add it to the to-do list :)
