Mk II FL aircon diagnosis

Featured Replies

Hi,

The aircon in my Mk II FL vRS has died. It will only get cold if it's cold outside and if it starts to get warm it gives up the ghost. It's also possibly making a groaning noise.

I'm a noob when it comes to VCDS. Are there any measurements I can do that would reveal if it's the compressor (as I suspect as I had a very similar fault with my old Mk II) or something else please?

Thanks,

Paul.

Fixed typo

In measuring blocks look at the voltage applied to the compressor modulating valve, I'm sorry but I cant for the like of me recall what they call it and its not a sensible description either.

The other thing to look at, in fact the first thing is the compressor shut off code, should be 0 or 1, cant recall but the drop down menu will tell you, any other values are codes for why it is shut off, no system pressure etc.

In fact thats the other parameter to check, the high side pressure on IIRC the G65 sensor.

Sorry I can recall the correct terms, the modulating valve might be N285?
