Problem Fitting Superb Climate Panel to Octavia

Featured Replies

Having been inspired by Sasha to fit a superb climate panel, to gain while lights and REST function, I got myself a panel, but I am having a problem getting the panel to fully work.

I can't get it to complete a first time compressor run. I get a fairly unhelpful error in VCDS. I can Adapt Flap End Stops without a problem. Also tried resetting the runtime compressor adaptation but still get the error doing the compressor run it.

So thinking I have a coding error with the Superb unit, just not sure what it is.

Any ideas, as it would be nice to have more white lights rather than white, and the REST function would be useful

I’ll have to have a proper dig at the coding. I only had to adapt the flaps and match the coding to the Octy panel. I’ll try to scan my car tomorrow and I’ll attach that if it’s helpful.

It would thanks.

Wondering if it because VCDS is limiting the coding options, and I should just copy my original value across and see if it takes.

That’s what I did. Changed everything to match and it worked.

Copied the long coding, which it took, but still no joy with the ac run in.

Did you copy any adaptations over as well?

I didn’t. My panel just worked. I’ll scan it this evening when I get home :)

Ah ha.

Got it working, just don't understand why I got it working.

Read on a forum where someone couldn't get his AC on after swapping the panel, and solved it by pressing AC and Demist at the same time for a few seconds. Did the same, and it worked. And the Run AC Compressor Run In fault code went away.

Now I did read that there is a way of coding the AC by pressing the buttons, but really not sure why it solved my problem. Just glad I did. Looks a lot better with white dials.
