Hi all

 

I've had my fabia vrs for three years now, and it's quite easily the longest time I've ever owned a car in 30 years of driving. Great car and still enjoy it. 

 

Got an itch for a change though. I've been thinking about a MK1 se and throwing some serious mods at it (always liked the se MK1 vrs) or possibly a BMW 123d coupe and have it remapped. 

 

Anyone who has swapped from a vrs......what did you replace it with? Any suggestions? 

 

I'd like something quick and reasonably frugal

 

I've got a budget of about 7-8k. 

Price range-I don't know, but the Audi 1 ,1.6TDI is VED rated AT £0 IN BASIC 103bhp MODE. IMHO- it's the shape the follow on from theMK1 should have been. Interesting point is that the high end ones are 237bhp, so with a bit of modification ,you'd get a modded car with a VED rating of nil £. in it's 103 mode, it's quoted as 70 MPG,SO IT'S FRUGAL .
