New Car 1000 mile Check

Featured Replies

What's Skoda's policy with getting a new car back in after 1000 miles to give it a check over?

I was told when the car was handed over to bring it back after 1000 miles. When i rang service to book it in they said it wasn't down to be brought back in, same dealer.

In light of that looks like they're doing a free winter check or something on Weds, they said they should pick anything up during that....

@Gonzini

Enjoy the car.

?

Do you remember who told you, if at the handover tell the Service Desk staff who it was.

They maybe need trained as the Sales Staff are, usually just Up-selling is their function and not arranging freebies.

There is no Skoda policy.

It is nice when a Dealership does do a 1,000 mile Health Check free to see that their staff have done the PDI correctly, and Skoda built the car correctly.

It does increase the chance of picking up issues and the Customer using that dealership for future servicing.

'Simply Clever' good after sales customer service.

Its costing enough, i hope I'll get some stress free motoring out of it!

The salesman who sold the car, made a bit of a deal out of it so definitely what he said.

I don't think he new much to be honest about these cars, when he handed it over and spent as little time as possible showing me around he started telling me about the other functions on the car but i already knew from looking at the sales brochure quick that they were optional extras.

I mentioned that at the time....

Said they would need it in for the day to look at the annoying rattle behind the lower console where the aircon control is though. I think its a cable connector hitting the hard plastic, seemed to get a bit better moving a loom back and the L/H side.

Can't see **** though, all by feel with what i can get at. That started after 50 miles.

I hope there is a no cost to you for their car insurance courtesy car available.

I would be telling them to not wash it or touch the glass inside. Let them vacuum it though...

Doing it while you wait first thing.

Not sure if they will offer to clean it to be honest, I'm going to clean the internal face of the windscreen in a bit.

Don't you trust them to wash the car?

I do not trust the car washer unless i know them, and i do not trust them to get the car from where parked into the workshop and back or to do a road test without kerbing a wheel.

So the Service Desk person needs to come out to check the car as the keys are handed in and they confirm no damage visable before any work is done.

Sounds like you've had bad experience.

I totally understand though, they will just deny anything...
