A driveshaft bolt killed my gearbox!

Featured Replies

Hello all.

Last night my passenger side gearbox end driveshaft bolts decided to come loose. In the process one of the C shaped washers has punched a hole in my gearbox casing! I've asked the garage it was towed to to send me the codes from the gearbox casing but i can't decipher which gearbox I need?

The codes provided to me are as follows:

WWO

02Q301107

MGA19ZN1

Now from my research so far I can discount WWO as that is used on all VAG castings but I haven't found anything for the other 2 codes. Is there anywhere else to look for what gearbox code my car uses?

The car is a 2010 2.0TSI VRS and the gearbox is a manual 6 speed.

The gearbox code and the codes for the engine and all options are on a sticker near the spare wheel space.

And looks like this:-

I copied the photo from another thread. The gearbox in this example is HDV. Your code will be shown in the same place.

Thank you. This is a great help!

Has that driveshaft been off recently; for example for a clutch replacement ?If so, were those bolts replaced with new ones (they are supposed to be)?
