P0101 very intermittent

Featured Replies

1.6 CR 105 diesel 2013.

Just looking for what more likely to throw up the fault code.

Under warranty, so ill be bringing to my dealer anyway to be resolved, but i dont want to get fobbed off either, or waste time with it not being sorted on first trip in...

Its only happened 5 times since i bought the car in April, 3 within a month/6weeks, and once around august, ant not since until today.

Ignition cycling resets it, and theres no change in power/torque/ fuel consumption because of it which is why i ignore it the first couple of times.

Today is the first time i had my obdii reader in and torque running on the way to work, interest in the running on motorway.

So, now in my head i know the likely cause, and how to get it to happen.

I came off the motorway, stopped at a set of lights, gave it boot to pull away, as it was a signalled roundabout with a short merge lane on my exit.

Aaaand voila! Flashing glow plug light.

Ran the fault scan and got

P0101 MAF sensor circuit range/performance.

So, which is more likely -

Maf dying, or a vac / intake leak somewhere that only shows up on a hard take off?

The other 4 occasions were both either on the braking up to or pulling away from toll plazas.. not sure when it came on as i was concentrating on the other cars, stopping point for basket and watching other lanes for safest/quickest exit strategy..

But today shows its definitely on the take off it throws up.

Hi

Did you manage to solve this problem?

I have something similar P0101 (and P0402 sometimes), power loss/chugging, erratic idle, coil light on. Sometimes smoke after chugging.

So far, having spent hours trawling forums I've...

Cleaned MAF

Changed MAF

Cleaned DPF

Manually cleaned DPF sensor

Cleaned EGR

Tested MAF voltage

Had all the air hoses off, cleaned and looked for cracks etc.

New battery

Checked earths etc.

I'm running out of ideas - Maybe change o2 sensors next?

I haven't done a DPF Regen yet - that may help?

Cheers

hoping to get it booked in in the next couple of weeks though, may try and replicate the issue again this week.

i never got a limp mode though

Thanks for answering so quick macllirl

So the problem just went away? Did you have to do anything at all?
