Electric windows misbehaving

Featured Replies

2010 5 door Fabia...drivers side electric window - when I close the window with the automatic close function it gets to the top and then it’s like it hits something and comes all the way back down...same with the normal function if I’m doing the window up myself and go too far it acts like it’s hit an obstruction and then moves all the way back down....but I can’t find an obstruction. Anyone seen this before?

thanks!

Its the anti pinch / trap facility being to sensitive, happens on mine occassionally.....

when it happens, lift the window in stages and this will often put it up, doing it in one motion it will often just keep doing it. Cold weather can play a part as everything shrinks and becomes "tighter"

Thank you - no one likes cold weather shrinkage

You could try closing them after switching off the ignition, too as this disables the one touch method so you can onlu=y close them by keeping "On the switch". BTW, have you recently added wind deflectors? This can cause this issue if fitted poorly.

No wind deflectors - I have to admit it comes up with some new niggle every few months. I think I might have a Friday car.
