Carista

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have had a good look around on here but can't see much about what customisation can be done with Carista. I was looking at getting one but not sure if it is going to do what I want of it.

I was hoping to enable traffic sign recognition, needle sweep, rear led lights on with DRL's, change the headlamp washer settings, get rid of the annoying 'drip/ tear' wipe function after washing the windows and a beep when locking the doors.

Anyone know if it can do any of the above? Also any suggestions as to what other people have done (specifically with carista)?

I don't want to spend loads of money and I would prefer a nice and simple IOS app based system, so VCDS and OBD11 are out of the question I think.

Cheers

Not the above, but Carista confirmed to me today that you CANNOT change the battery management settings yet

Do not go for Carista, there is no long coding and you have to pay an annual subscription. If you can’t stretch to VCDS then it’s worth buying a cheap Android device to run OBDEleven and get the PRO pack to do long coding and then you can change whatever you like and you will know what you are changing. The credits are only for pre written apps and I don’t recommend these; once you have paid for the device and PRO pack there is nothing more to pay. OBDEleven do now have a dongle for iPhone but I haven’t seen how they are different to the old dongles.

Do you actually need the diagnostic tool to keep. You could find a VCDS owner on the VCDS Map near you. All those mods only need doing once.

I've yet to have anyone come back to me after I've done mods on their car to revert them back to original.

Enjoy your new wheels when it arrives.

Does anyone have any experience with Carly? I have seen some videos on yt showing how it works, could be what Al47999 is  looking for.

I myself am considering the same...
