Headlight upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi all, just wondering if there is an upgrade on bulbs for my 2017 Fabia Monte Carlo?,

cheers

Osram night breaker or Philips Xtreme vision.

Thanks AG Falco

Raise the voltage from 12v to 13.5v with vcds or simmilar, also aftermarket bulbs help.

I fitted Philips Xtreme Vision bulbs to my Fabia, although it had the basic lights without the LED DRLs. Made a big difference. Although now that I've gone to the LED lights on my Ibiza... there's no going back 🤣

Any adverse effects from doing this?

Shorter bulb life, but the official bulb lights are manufacturer tested on standard 13.6V, so it is safe. Mine last one year almost exactly and I have standard bulbs in. But it is safer because more light is emited.

Old systems did not have PWM driven lights, so they were directly connected to battery through relay switch, like it is on my old Polo.

Are these the H7s? Thanks

You can get them as H7s or H4s depending on the fitment for your vehicle.

How many headlamp bulbs do you have?

Two on each side with the projector type lens and they are H7 bulbs with two connectors on the back of each bulb.

One on each side with the reflector type lens and they are H4 bulbs with three connectors on the back of each bulb.

A photo of your headlamp assembly will confirm what type you have.

Unless you might have a full LED Version?

Thanks AG Falco
