There are reports in the Volkswagen community that the Up! Is making a comeback in 2020 in petrol form.Just the 60 bhp engine for the regular models and the 115bhp engine for the GTI.Would imagine Skoda will be keen to bring the Citigo back with the petrol variety?.

It would not surprise me. VAG claimed it was impossible to make money in the city car sector (c.f. lord Stokes many years ago). But if new petrol models are tweaked to reduce emissions, they may be needed again to keep fleet averages down in line with legislation.

 

What VW do like building ICE Up!'s really might have nothing to do with what gets a Skoda or SEAT badge in the factory.

If they get bigger electric cars on market then yes. Probably. 

 

Average co2 needs to be 95 g CO₂/km.
