Rear windscreen wiper not working

Featured Replies

I have a 65 plate 1.0 Fabia. My rear windscreen wiper has stopped working. Last week it wasn’t operating and once the car had warmed up it started working. However today it’s refusing to work at all. I have very low usage/mileage and the start/stop system isn’t kicking in. Could it be a problem with the battery? Any ideas to solve the problem please?

Was it frozen to the rear screen when it was cold?

Does the heated rear screen still work?

Have you checked the fuse?

Can you smart charge the battery?

But don't connect the charger up to the Negative terminal.

Thanks AG Falco

as said above, my first thing to check would be the fuse. Cheap and easy. If you tried to operate it when it was frozen to the window, good chance you popped it. I always make sure I spray a little deicer on it and after a bit lift them off the glass as I've blown fuses in the past when frozen. There is a fuse diagram in the manual and they cost pence.

I would of thought if the engine was running there would be enough juice to power it regardless of battery level 🤔 If the fuse doesn't work, go have a listen by the boot while its on, maybe you stripped the gears if it was frozen on? Might hear the motor spinning.
