Skoda fabia mk2 jerks if I turn on AC and EPC light comes on.

Featured Replies

Hai Gurus,

Good Day to all, I am facing this problem for a while, evertime when I start the car it starts normally, but When I turn on AC and drive for a while say 2 to 5 mins the EPC light comes on and the car losses power and jerks. No response to throttle, But if the press the clutch the engine accelerate normally, but when i engage the clutch in any gear the car totally looses power and randomly pulls with jerks, The only thing i can think of is I have applied WD40

to the accelerator pedal just before the problem started but not sure that could have caused this.

Thanks in advance 🙏🏼.

It is possible that your air con compressor is starting to seize as I found out on a previous car. As it is driven by the crank pulley any resistance in the compressor will make the engine run rough / struggle, or stall completely. Clutch engaged = under load and engine works harder. Clutch disengaged = engine not under load. Try spraying WD40 on the belt which drives the compressor and see if it makes a difference with the clutch engaged.
