Is this the right plug... new question!

Featured Replies

...and is the plan below likely to throw up any errors with this a-bit-too-clever-for-its-own-good stereo?

I'd like a bit more oomph from the stereo, but between not wanting to lose the 1001 integrated functions on the Amundsen, lack of RCAs, and reading that the unit will throw errors if it thinks it doesn't have speakers connected, I was kinda resigned to leaving everything stock.

Then I was pointed at this amp: https://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/car-amps-subs/vibe-optisound-micro-4-channel-amp which just needs a patch lead to work (I already have a set of Focal Access 16.5cm speakers hanging about ;) ) (and I may take power from an unused fuse instead of the HU piggy-back this seems to run).

Is https://connects2.com/Product/ProductItem/CT10SK03 the lead with the correct plug to fir my Amundsen?

And does anyone know if I'm likely to get away without producing any errors/problems on the HU with this set up?

(I also like that it gives me a pair of RCA outputs in case I ever feel like adding a sub  :) )

Thanks in advance folks!

Well, found a couple of posts with similar installs, and they say they lose the fader, that's acceptable as the amp has separate gains for the front and rear anyway... so I've ordered all the bits I think I need :)

In the meantime, I found this in a workshop pdf:

Which seems to suggest I'll need the stereo re-coded if I pull the plug to insert the patch lead (or even if I just disconnect the battery??!)

This can't be right, surely???
