Excessive Air Freshener use in the Car, the result is this

Featured Replies

AKA a DIYBJ? :)

How many cans of the stuff must he have unleashed in the car to do that much damage??? Including damage to neighbouring business windows...

He was clearly very lucky he didnt go with the windows..

Seems to be a bit of conflict, fills car with air freshener then sparks up a fag!.

Mmm.....................

Havn't the propellants used in aerosols been non inflammable for donkeys years?

I know that something like WD40 will burn if you spray it onto a naked flame, we used to love doing that with Contect duck oil when a mate was gas welding but this is an explosion we are talking about.

I could understand if there was a powder involved.

I recall as an adventurous and overinquisitive child in the 60's that my mother/elder sisters had a wig, it was stored on a polystyrene "head" and there was an aerosol of "wig cleaner", I sprayed it all over the head and it just melted, it was pure tricloroethylene and probably a proper hole in the ozone burning propellant as well, it quickly got upgraded to part of my pyromaniac arsenal

Lucky there were enough other drugs around then that people had not started sniffing things, Trico is lethal stuff when vaporised.

That's what I was thinking, maybe possible with a dry powder deodorant rather than an air freshener?

Or maybe the guy was a full on Mad Max crazy and was buzzing butane gas in his car and forgetfully lit a smoke.😁

Isopropyl alcohol still in most aerosols... i still reckon he mustve used a **** load of it to cause that amount of damage though.

And clearly the leon is a very airtight vehicle to build enough pressure internally to blow out windows and buckle panel work??

You need to get the right ratio of combustable chemicals to oxygen to get a good bang. But he still probably used tons of skoosh.

It's probably the sort of thing you shouldn't look up on the interweb. Might get you noticed.

I don't buy it.  Clearly he rolled it whilst doing 'The ring' and got towed back; this was the best excuse he could come up with to get an insurance pay out. 😀

Probably indulging in the traditional West Riding winter sport of ' light your own wind ' ?

I can't comment directly on the pyrotechnic habits of said locals, but this made me smile :)
