normal or concerning noise from gearbox?

Featured Replies

so since a lot of components on my car has gone wrong and needed replacing recently, i've started to drive without the radio, to  try and hear everything. one thing I've noticed is a "crunch" sound from the gearbox, in specific situations where I am accelerating, then come off the gas pedal (for example, going around a corner), then I press the gas pedal, there is a crunch as the car gets going again. The gear number on the maxidot display may either stay the same and still crunch or go lower by 1 gear.

i don't notice it in smooth acceleration in a straight line.

I can't remember if my car has always done this, or if this a sign that something is old and about to break. car is 145k superb 12 reg 170bhp 6 speed wet dsg.
