I need to remove the tailgate trim on my estate to replace the washer jet. I have removed the lower part OK, but the upper one is held in by a circular plastic rivet / clip. It doesn't seem to want to pop off by itself even with a fair bit of force. Do I just need more force or am I missing something? Is it possible that I need to undo the strut? Ta.

You push the middle bit in, it may fall into the bootlid but you can retrieve it, close the boot and it’ll roll to the bottom and you can feel for it there. Then the outer bit pops off.
