Roomster Scout Badging Question

Featured Replies

I was in the car aork this week and saw a Roomster Scout. I only relly clocked it because my neighbour has one (which I like) and have taken more notice in them since he got his.

This one was badged as a Roomster 2 but was a Scout. I was curious so looked further, it had the Scout steering wheel, gearknob, wheels and tinted glass.

Did any of these get released with the Roomster 2 badge? I was thnking that the 2 is similar in many parts and maybe got diverted on the production line to be made into a Scout, but got the wrong badge? My curioisity got the better of me and I looked at the DVLA information from the registration, and it is recorded as a Scout, so I think that rules out someone making their own upgrade.

I know I probably have too much time on my hands, but can anyone shed any light on this? Thank you in advance for any information.

Sorry - I meant it was recorded as a Roomster, but I could not verify online if it was a Scout. That was what i was trying to do...

Hi, there was never a Mk2 Roomster.

Has the one you see got all the extra body protection panels all round.

Put, Roomster Scout into Google, and see if looks like the one your looking at.

Just remembered, there was some Roomsters, i think , had some numbers on them that related to the specification on the car. Someone will put me right, if I got that wrong.

I think that's correct; certainly there was a period when Skoda used 1, 2 or 3 as trim designations on some models.

Thank you for your posts.

The car had the exact/correct Scout equipment, such as all round plastic panels, 16in wheels, the correct 3 spoke sterring wheel. The 2 designation was on the Roomster word.name badge. I have managed to find an online reference by the registration and it is recorded as a Scout in official data.

I think what people have said above makes sense. My conclusion is that there were 2's or 3's that became Scouts on the production line. The one I saw did not have a panoramic roof, and I suspect that if it had the badging may have been a 3 Scout. This is the only big difference I can think of in the range options, and I can imagine in a production meeting that decision was made not to use that badge on teh Scouts at some stage. This makes sense to me and my curisoity is happy to accept it as an explanation.

Thank you, as always, for your input, information and suggestions.

Originally, Roomster trims were designated 1, 2, 3 and Scout, but in early 2009 the range was overhauled so that only three models remained: S, SE and Scout...
