Clockspring/right side scroll/cruise control...connected?

Featured Replies

Back in December while turning the steering wheel I heard the dreaded noise, almost like a crisp packet scrunch.

A couple of days later an "airbag Fault" message was displayed, and none of the steering wheel functions would work I.e. horn, scroll buttons etc.  (At this point I had not check if cruise control/driver assist was working as I rarely use it).

Took the car to a garage and was told it was clock spring behind steering wheel and they couldn't get the part anywhere only skoda themselves, also a certain bolt had to be replaced aswell once taken off as it could not be put back on during the repair.  Cost me almost £400

Got the car back and the airbag fault was sorted but the right hand side slide wheel would not scroll.  The day after I discovered the driver assist/cruise control came up with "driver assist button fault?

Sent car back in and told them the issues, got the car back with the same problems.

Anyone had this before?  Too much of a coincidence that both scroll and cruise control not working for it to be a separate fault.  Feel like I'm being fobbed off.

Any advice greatly welcome, and thanks in advance.

Danny
