Need Some Urgent Help

Featured Replies

Had a recent puncture(on M42-nice!),I asked local dealer for name of tyre place that could do a repair(car on contract)...Needless to say they got it wrong-so here I am with the space saver wheel/tyre on-about to go on hols(350miles),wondering/worrying that the 16"space saver is going to fall apart at speeds over 50mph(car has 17" pegs as standard).

& I dont fancy doing 50mph on M5 for 3 hours.....

The tyre looks like a standard 16"-surely I could go faster as its not the width of a bike tyre as most space savers are.....

I'm not sure as to why Skoda put a speed limit on them tbh. More than likey because you will have 16" on one side and a 17" on the other. But as the rolling radius is the same im sure you will be just fine.

They also put a speed limit on the Fabia vRS steel spare but thats full size, i dont understand that either.

It's not going to fall apart that's for sure .....only difference may be the level of grip so may make the handling a bit odd
